If you’ve recently passed or are busy with your Gr 12 and you’re from an historically disadvantaged background, then Exxaro can offer you the BSc 4 year programme or B Engage programme. This prepares student to compete on merit for a bursary.

Exxaro offers bursaries only to candidates currently in Gr 12 (or to recently matriculated candidates) who will commence with first year studies in the next academic year. The selection process occurs annually with the support of the Exxaro Community Development Practitioners at all Exxaro Business Units.

Impala Platinum Holdings Limited (Implats) is in the business of mining, refining and marketing of platinum group metals (PGMs), as well as nickel, copper and cobalt. Implats offers a number of bursaries in the following fields of study: Engineering Mining Metallurgy Chemical Mechanical Electrical (heavy current) Chemistry to honours level Geology to honours level Accounting to honours level Surveyinf Human Resources BCom to honours level.

The IDC provide finance for industrial development projects by promoting partnerships across industries within and outside our borders, promoting regional economic growth. The IDC provide bursaries to students who qualify for admission to a University or University of Technology or who are currently studying at a University or University of Technology.

The MQA bursary scheme was established to increase the number of learners taking careers in the mining and minerals sector. The bursary will be awarded to students enrolled in careers identified in the scarce and critical skills list, particularly in core mining related disciplines.
